Should the driving law be changed?

Filed under: should the driving law be changed — peaceandlove at 2:03 pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Right now, people are trying to decide if the law that you have to be atleast 16 to drive should be moved to age 18 or not. There are many car accidents involving young teens so there is a consideration to make the law a couple years older. I do not think that this law should be made. I think this becasue many kids that are 16 or 17 have jobs that they have to go to. If they dont have a ride then they wont be able to get to work and they wouldnt get paid. Also, if the law is changed kids might drive anyway just becasue they dont care, and then get arrested. Do you think its fair if the law is changed to age 18 in order to drive? Further more, there would probably be more problems then good things if this law is changed. I really hope that the law is not changed becasue i would like to drive as soon as possible!  Do you think it would be better for kids to start driving at age 16 or 18?

I honestly believe that it depends on the type of person who is getting their license. If they are responsible and do not care of what other people think of them then they should be able to drive at the age of 16. However, we should not allow people who are likely to go out partying and get drunk because if they get in an accident then they can kill or severely injure innocent people. I also think that it’s the parent’s responsibility to decide if their child is ready or not to drive yet. Furthermore, I think that the state should look at each child’s grades and have a conference with the child’s parents so they can discuss weather or not their child is ready to drive yet. Even though there are many car accidents that involve teenagers, it’s important to remember that anyone can be in an accident and it only takes a second to do so.

Your right kids do need a ride to school everyday or else they wouldn’t have a life. Kids need to get out there and grow up.

I think they should keep the driving age the same. I think if they should change something it should be what they teach them at school. The kids are getting into accidences because they aren’y paying attention to the road!! It is not fair to the kids who will pay attention to the road if they can’t drive when they are 16. instead they have to wait until they are 18.

i think the driving age should still be 16. i think the same things would happen even if they raised the age limit

ya, i agree. because the kids that were born before us got to drive when they were 16 or 17, so why can’t we. Isn’t it a law to treat everyone equally?

I think it would be better to chnage the law to 18 because you are more resoncaple the older that you get. But I htink that they should change the rule right after I get mine ao that i dont have to wait so long till I get one!!!!

Your right the law shouldn’t be changed. It depends on the person that is driving also, if they are responsible or not. And I want to be able to drive now.
